The Day I Met Kristen – A Spark of Creativity and Endless Energy
It was one of those random days when everything seemed like it was just… ordinary. I was preparing for our monthly sewing group totally expecting to chat, and work on projects. But that day? That day was different. That day, I met Kristen.
Kristen was invited to join our group by my best friend Cindy. Kristen burst into my house like a whirlwind of energy. Her laugh? Infectious. Her enthusiasm? Unstoppable. She immediately made everyone feel like they were the most interesting person in the room, and as someone who usually takes a bit to warm up, I found myself laughing and chatting like we’d been friends for years.
Now, don’t get me wrong—Cindy is my very best friend, that I have known for quite some time. But Kristen? She brought a new kind of magic to the group, a spark that made everything feel
brighter, more exciting. She was the kind of person who could take something simple like a sewing project and turn it into an adventure. Every project we discussed became a new possibility, a chance to push boundaries, try something new, and experiment with color, texture, and design.
But what really blew me away was Kristen’s creativity. I’m not just talking about her ideas (which were always fresh and bold), but her ability to see potential in absolutely everything. A plain, old fabric swatch? To Kristen, it was the beginning of a statement piece waiting to happen. She could look at a pile of scraps and envision a whole new world of possibilities. It was like she could make the ordinary extraordinary, and honestly, it was inspiring.
Her energy was contagious. Kristen’s excitement about life—about everything—was magnetic. She would get so into the process, so passionate about what she was creating, that you couldn't help but be swept up in her enthusiasm. It didn’t matter if we were working on something small, or if we were brainstorming our next big project; with Kristen, it always felt like an adventure.
But it wasn’t just her creativity that inspired me—it was her entire approach to life. Kristen believed in taking chances, in failing forward, and in the power of fun. Every project was a chance to learn something new, and every mistake was just another step on the road to success. She’d laugh as she cut into a new fabric or experimented with a crazy color combination. "It’s all part of the process."
And that’s the magic Kristen brings: this unstoppable energy that pushes you to think bigger, go bolder, and embrace every single moment with joy.
Kristen taught me that creativity is not just about making something beautiful—it’s about making something fun. It’s about being bold enough to fail and confident enough to keep going. It’s about knowing that with a little energy, a lot of heart, and a dash of humor, anything is possible.
I’m so lucky to have met Kristen through Cindy,
and even luckier to call her a friend. She doesn’t just inspire me with her creativity—she inspires me to live more boldly, laugh more freely, and dive into life with all the energy she brings into every room.
So, here’s to Kristen—the friend who shows me every day that life is an adventure, and creativity is its best companion.
